Joanne Thomsen

Ms. Joanne Thomsen is Vice President at MaRS Discovery District (Venture Capital).
She manages the human resources program at MaRS and MaRS Innovation.
Prior to joining MaRS in November 2009, Ms. Thomsen was Vice President, Human Resources with Empirical, an online and traditional marketing services company.
Prior to Empirical, she was with the Bank of Montreal as Senior Human Resource Business Partner and Consultant, aligning people strategy to the business strategy across different lines of businesses and shared services groups.
She also spent several years at the Toronto District School Board in a variety of HR roles.
Ms. Thomsen received her B.A. in Psychology from Trent University in 1984.
