The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive, objective data and analysis on postsecondary education, drawing from data contributed by nearly all colleges and millions of students. The private company is based in Herndon, VA. It publishes annual and periodic reports covering metrics such as enrollment trends, college persistence and retention, undergraduate degree completion, transfer student pathways, high school graduate benchmarks, and the educational trajectories of adults with some college but no credential. The reports offer demographic, geographic, and temporal insights, highlighting disparities by age, income, race/ethnicity, and enrollment status, and track outcomes such as completion rates, transfer enrollment recovery, and credential attainment across certificate, associate, and bachelor’s degree levels. The center supports policymakers, education leaders, and institutions by providing data-driven insights, custom research services, interactive data dashboards, and downloadable resources. The company was founded in 1993. The CEO is Ricardo D Torres.
