Sean's career in business started in 1998 as a member of the medical advisory board of Vital Images, Inc., a Minnesota based provider of 3-D visualization software applications.
In 2001, Sean founded Virtual Radiologic Corporation (:VRAD) and served as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
From 2001 to 2008, Sean grew Virtual Radiologic Corporation from his small home office based start up company, to one that generated over $100 million in annual revenue, provided patient care to over 1,000 hospitals, clinics and emergency rooms trough out the United States, and employed over 300 physicians and employees.
In 2007 Sean completed a successful $100 million Initial Public Offering for VRAD with Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, and was named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
In 2010 Sean founded and now serves as Chairman and General Partner of Omphalos Venture Partners, LLC.
Under his tenure Omphalos Venture Partners has led investments in dozens of early stage technology, medical device, healthcare services and SAAS companies.
Sean is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
An American Board of Radiology - certified radiologist, Dr. Casey was a pioneer in the clinical use of cerebral CT angiography and venography, as well as other 3-D post processing applications.
