Prior to joining D&G in 2005, Mr. Guard joined Stifel Nicolaus due to the merger that occurred on Dec.
1, 2005.
He joined Legg Mason in 1999 and spent six years at Legg Mason in the Equity Research department.
His most recent position was Vice President and head of the firm’s restaurant industry research effort.
He was ranked #2 by StarMine for his EPS estimate accuracy on Starbucks, has appeared on CNBC and CNN, and has been quoted regularly in the national press.
Prior to Legg Mason, he spent a decade in the music industry in various positions, the last as a sound engineer and IT manager for Event Tech, a special events firm.
Mr. Guard has a B.S.B.A. with a specialization in international finance from The American University, and has an M.B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University.
He is a CFA Charterholder.
