John Focht

John Focht is primarily engaged by the Firm to work with portfolio company management teams in the areas of quality systems and regulatory assurance for businesses in the industrial, medical, aerospace and defense markets.
Mr. Focht has worked closely with several Vance Street portfolio companies, including RST and Applied.
Prior to working with Vance Street, Mr. Focht spent twelve years as a Senior Supplier Quality Manager for Medtronic, supporting six of their manufacturing sites in the US and Europe.
Additionally, Mr. Focht supported key contract manufacturing, OEM and component/service partners of Medtronic in the US.
Prior to Medtronic, Mr. Focht was the Director of Quality and Planning at Wrestling Manufacturing, where he oversaw two locations and led the transfer of operations new facilities as well as the development of a formal quality system.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Focht was the Quality Manager at United Plastics Group where he supported sites in Minneapolis, El Paso, Freemont and Monterrey (MX).
Prior to Medtronic, Mr. Focht was involved in a number of industries in his quality management roles.
These included automotive, industrial and defense in addition to medical.
He has integrated effective quality systems in a number of diverse manufacturing environments from plating/heat treating, welding, machining, injection molding, electronic and mechanical assembly.
Mr. Focht holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and a BS in mathematics.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
