The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) is a not-for-profit professional organization representing nearly 45,000 geoscientists across 28 European national associations. The private company is based in Brussels, Belgium. EFG promotes high standards, ethical practice, and professional recognition in geology through initiatives such as the EurGeol title and the Medal of Merit award. It connects geoscience professionals, policymakers, industry, and academia to advance geoscience’s societal role in environmental protection, sustainable resource management, natural hazard mitigation, and energy transition.
