Dai-ichi-IP is an active, growth-oriented manager with a mid- to long-term outlook. They invest assets held in life insurance policies and insurance reserve funds from a prudent perspective and aim at maintaining a stable investment income stream. A large part of the firm’s assets is invested in fixed-income, complemented by equity, loans and real estate. The majority of their assets are invested in Japan, complemented by foreign investments which are perceived as potentially more profitable. Yen-denominated fixed-income constitutes the core of Dai-ichi-IP's portfolio, and includes long-term and super-long-term bonds. Foreign bonds investments are related to a close monitoring of currency exchange rates. For Japanese equity investments, the firm actively selects sectors and companies with growth potential. Foreign stocks investments are based on a combination of in-house research and external input from independent sell-side firms, and seek to achieve regional as well as investment style diversification.
