Michael J.

He was President of NorthWestern Energy from March 2005 to May 20, 2005 and Chief Operating Officer from August 2003 to March 2005.
Mr. Hanson was President and Chief Executive Officer of Utility Operations for NorthWestern Energy from 1998 to 2003.
Prior to joining NorthWestern Energy, he was General Manager and Chief Executive of Northern States Power Co. from 1994 to 1998.
Mr. Hanson held various financial, legal and operating leadership positions at Northern States Power for over 20 years.
He received a BS degree in Accountancy from the University of Wisconsin and a JD from the William Mitchell College of Law and attended the United States Naval Academy.
