Thomas J. Musick

In December 1983, Mr. Musick joined John McStay as a founding partner in Brazos Capital Management.
Mr. Musick was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and was raised in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Musick received his B.S.
degree from Lehigh University in 1964 and his M.B.A.
degree from Southern Methodist University in 1965.
After serving in the United States Coast Guard, he attended Duke University Law School as a university scholar and did additional post graduate work at UCLA and the University of California at Berkeley.
He received his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1973.
Mr. Musick has been actively involved in the investment business since 1966, beginning his career as a securities analyst with The First National Bank in Dallas and later moving to the West Coast to become a portfolio manager in the Trust Investment Division of Union Bank.
While there, Mr. Musick managed several large trust relationships including the Banks commingled equity accounts.
He was promoted to Senior Investment Officer in their Northern California Regional Headquarters and was assigned supervisory responsibility for Employee Benefit Administration in Northern California.
In 1976, Mr. Musick moved to Dallas, Texas, joining the Investment Management Division of Mercantile National Bank at Dallas.
This investment group was later spun out as a separate subsidiary of the holding company under the name of Mercantile Securities Corporation.
During his seven years at Mercantile, Mr. Musicks responsibilities included research on a variety of industries and primary responsibility for the management of a number of investment portfolios.
Mr. Musick was a member of Mercantiles four-man strategy committee.
