Dr. Jorgensen has led the due diligence efforts of many of the 13 Velocity portfolio companies and is now a Board member of several of these firms.
He works actively with Velocity’s portfolio companies to expand their intellectual property portfolios and build out their technical teams.
He is regularly quoted in local business publications as an industry or technical expert, and is a regular guest lecturer for the PhD bio-tech program at University of California, he has served as a judge for their Graduate School of Management student business plan competition, and is currently teaching a course on entrepreneurship and venture capital as part of the MBA program at the University of the Pacific.
He is also a member of several local angel investment groups.
He is active in the local clean tech and bio-tech communities and recently served as the Program Chair of the SARTA CleanTech ShowCase, and is a founding member of the SARTA MedStart Steering Committee.
Dr. Jorgensen holds a BS in theoretical physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he also did PhD level work in quantum field theory.
He holds an MD from Columbia University, and completed his medical internship, residency and fellowship training in New York City.
He is a graduate of the Stanford University.
